A champion gymnast and dancer in her childhood, Leyla gathered a lifetime of performance experience in a variety of fields, including nine years as a sought after bellydancer, before evolving into a wickedly voluptuous and charismatic burlesque artist. She is now well established in the upper echelons of the UK burlesque scene, performing at prestigious events such as The Candy Box in Birmingham and the Torture Garden and appearing in legendary venues such as Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club and Madame JoJo’s. She frequently performs in major cities abroad and has starred in shows and festivals in Milan, Stockholm, Paris, New York, Rome, Rotterdam and Helsinki, sharing the bill with some of burlesque’s top names. She has fronted advertising campaigns for retro clothing designer Vivien of Holloway, appearing in high profile magazines such as Harpers Bazaar and has been featured in famous publications such as Q Magazine and Playboy in both Italy and France. With an onstage presence that is commanding, striking and red hot, Leyla is a remarkably versatile performer.
She can evoke the classic elegance of a Golden Age Hollywood movie star performing sultry stripteases, but is equally at home as a bumping, grinding, tassel twirling rock ‘ n’ roll showstopper, with a taste for the macabre and a knock out shimmy shake that is second to none.
